Zhu Zhiyu,the professor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University,was invited by our School of Foreign Languages to deliver an academic lecture,which entitled Contemporary Translation Studies in the second classroom of Changan campus on 3rd,March 2016.And it's worth noting,this lecture is one of the University lecture series which named The Famous Translators Coming to the Ancient City in the 8th APTIF. Professor Zhu zhiyu,who obtained a comparative literature PhD at University of Hong Kong,now holds the position as the translation committee of CTJ,and he has published many papers about translation,literature,linguistics in some domestic and foreign journals such as Foreign Language Teaching and Research,CTJ,Foreign Languages and Their Teaching,Language and Literature Translation,and Target,The Translator.
The lecture was presided by Professor Hu,the dean of the School of Foreign Languages,which concentrated on translation strategy of literary translation,based on the perspective of German functionalism,vividly illustrated Prof.Zhu's insightful views,quoted the translation of the famous translators,simply and accessibly discussed some translation theories of Reiss, Nord,etc.
